SAN SEBASTIAN FOOD NAMED WORLD’S TOP 10 FOOD TOUR BY TRIP ADVISOR
San Sebastián, SPAIN (May 3, 2016) – San Sebastián Food’s Pintxo Tasting Tour has been ranked one of the world’s top 10 food and wine tours by Trip Advisor, the world’s largest travel site. The tour was chosen out of all the food & wine tours across the globe for the award, and appears on a list next to tours from Europe, Australia, Asia and the USA. This recognition was based on review ratings on the site and popularity of the tour.
The Pintxo Tasting Tour is a guided tour of the old town’s best pintxo bars, making it an on-trend travel offering that reflects the rise of culinary tourism. A survey of over 3,500 British travelers showed that nearly half (45%) have been on or are planning to go on a gastronomic getaway. According to Trip Advisor, visitors will “wine and dine like a local on this three hour ‘pintxos’ (Basque tapas) tour. Numbers are limited to 10 on this small-group tour, ensuring an intimate dining experience.” San Sebastián’s status as both a world culinary capital and as the 2016 European Capital of Culture means it is a culinary destination to visit now.
